We headed to the mountains to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful time! We went to the Lake Lure and Chimney Rock area. Here are just a couple shots of the fun.
This is a Mexican restaurant in Morganton that we had eaten at once before, just because we were in the area. Well, I (Beth) have been wanting to go back ever since! Steven surprised me with this being our first dinner stop on the way to Lake Lure. What an amazing husband!
We saw in one of the Lake Lure magazines that this drug store in Forest City had one of the best pimiento cheese sandwiches in all of NC...so we had to check it out! (We still think Dad Moody's pimiento cheese is better, though.)
The infamous Chimney Rock.
(It was way too expensive to go into the state park, so we just admired from a distance...still a great view!)

A dear friend of mine got married at Lake Lure. We stayed at the inn across the street...in either the Baby or Johnny suite..can't remember which. Named after the Dirty Dancing characters since the movie was filmed at Lake Lure. Very beautiful place.
