What a Way to Celebrate
On Monday, we went to the doctor and found out WE'RE HAVING A GIRL!!! We are so excited about this news and can't wait to meet her! Tuesday marked our 2-year anniversary, as well, so this was a wonderful way for us to celebrate! But while we're still mostly child-free, we decided we'd get away for a night to celebrate at a bed and breakfast. (We also found out that this kind of trip is called a babymoon.) It was such a fun and relaxing weekend!
We loved the theme of the room - rustic and outdoorsy.
This was the view from outside our room...on a very misty morning.
This is me doing a baby picture...in the rain.

This was so cool! Our hosts told us about this stream in which there were salmon spawning! This is a fish I finally caught in action as it was trying to jump over this mini waterfall! Watching these guys was amazing, and it gave a whole new meaning to "go against the flow!"

Apple Picking!
Washington is known for its apples, so we thought we'd take advantage of it and go pick some apples! We went with some friends, Kyle and Tabitha, so we had ourselves a grand 'ole time.

Steven had just accidentally broken a branch of this tree trying to get an apple from the very top. Ah, the things husbands do for their wives!

Week 17
So today marks week 17, so we wanted to share a few more belly pictures with you. This time, we thought we'd let you see a bit of Steven too!
Like my pregnant shirt?
Haha, this was our attempt at one of those romantic pictures!

Steven wanted to show off his baby belly too!
We also went to the doctor this past week, and we got to listen to the heartbeat! That was our first time hearing it, so it was really neat. The doctor said everything looks good still. For anyone who cares, she did talk with us about my Rh- blood type, so I'll have to do the RhoGam shots throughout the pregnancy. Other than my fear of needles, that doesn't seem to be too big of a deal. ;)
She also told us that at our next appointment (Nov 3), we'll be doing the ultrasound in which they can determine the sex of our baby! That's especially fun because that will be the day before our anniversary. What a great way to celebrate!

A Taste of Home
Yesterday we had such a splendid treat that we just wanted to tell you all about it. Our good friend, Chris, was sent to the Seattle area on a work trip...and we had the privilege of dining with him one of the nights he was in the area. Unfortunately, traffic wasn't super-helpful for either him nor us, but we all finally ended up in the right place, and it was SO nice to visit with someone from home. Thanks for the visit Chris, and if anyone else is thinking about following suit...we'd love to see you!
